Conlang General Sketch: Arboreal

For a society of philosophers and mystics who live in the trees of a rainforest, I want to make a language unlike any I've seen. They are trained in the ways of shadows and dreams, of layers of reality and in meditation styles and uses seen nowhere else. Their language reflects this.

The grammar is to be highly inflected, and the words build of radicals and infixes, like the Semitic family of languages. At this point I have no real idea what it sounds like.

Their writing system is symbolic, but is made of ideograms that incorporate the inflections to allow complex meanings. The result would look like the Chinese/Hunan system of Nu Shu, with marks within each character to tell you the tense, mood, etc. of each word.

I'm fairly enamored of this concept, but the above is pretty much all I have for it. This one will take some doing.
