What's this all about, anyway?

So there's this blog, see, and it's kind of random-looking...

Yeah, I know. The idea of this blog is to reduce the number of places I post things, and also to make the posts of higher quality and durability. For one thing, have you tried any sort of formatting over on FaceBook? Exceptionally limited, and you can only reasonably include 1 link, which for things of any length is simply not enough. Don't get me started on trying to do anything useful with photos in FB aside from putting them in albums. And then there are the older blog/journal locations that I've occasionally used but don't any more. So here we are at the new address, my little corner where I can collect my true thoughts. Its intended content falls into certain categories:
  • Language - I have an abiding interest in language and linguistics. I've no particular talent for it, meaning it all has to pass by force into my cranium, but that makes me all the more interested in discussing what I've learned.
  • Gaming - Likely to be a minor topic here, and probably leaning toward the RPG side of things.
  • Conlangs - Combining the above two topics leads to conlangs ("constructed languages") as they relate to fictional works (books and movies, generally) and games.
  • Photography - Expect a fair bit of this.
  • Music - I'm a musician. We tend to talk about music.
  • Fallacies - This fascinates me, the many ways people screw up or deliberately dodge the truth. I'll probably tackle them one at a time, and go looking for terms for fallacious phenomena I've seen but can't yet classify.
  • Psychological Effects - In a way similar to logical fallacies, people will often apply a similar pattern of thought, beneficial or not, to wildly different situations. The repeated patterns interest me enough to explore them here every so often.
  • Life Stuff - Though this isn't to be a play-by-play-of-life sort of blog, I'm very likely to include items about goals, achievements, general observations, and inspirations.
So here we are. Let's get to it.
